Where Sintra's history stops naming names

A dispute between two women in the Rinchoa area turned violent one night in May 2025. A 34-year-old man stepped in to try to stop it. When a 24-year-old man arrived, the fighting turned on him. He was stabbed in the back and died from the wound. Police detained the suspect on suspicion of qualified homicide. It is simply what the record now holds for this stretch of Rio de Mouro: a name-shaped absence where a man died defending strangers.
A police officer was attacked with a knife on duty
A month earlier, a police officer working these same streets was attacked by a man carrying a knife. The officer was assaulted in the course of his duty. The suspect was overpowered and taken into custody, brought to the local station to answer for it. It made the local press for a day, the way these things do, and then it didn't. Nothing here got one. The street just went back to being a street, the way it does after most nights like this one, everywhere.
